Mepit @ WASHINGTON DC 2018
Space, space cooperation and the so-called “space economy” represent an increasingly important area in relations between Italy and the USA. After SPACECOM parenthesis, Mepit’s experience in North America continued with the participation in the conference held on November 29th at the Italy Embassy headquarters in Washington which was attended by many American companies. Special guest of the conference, organized in collaboration with Piedmont Region, was Michele Geraci, Under-secretary for Economic Development, in Washington for institutional visit. During the work, Geraci recalled how the excellence of our companies and the professionalism of our public institutions have allowed “Italy to establish itself in a strategic and highly competitive sector”. At the end of the conference, it was possible to meet some of the B2B companies that joined the initiative, such as SpaceX, Northrop Grumman, Pratt & Whitney, Virgin Galactic, Sierra Nevada Corporation. The experience in Washington ended with a visit to the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
