Farnborough International Airshow 2018

Farnborough International Airshow 2018 came to an end with more than 1,500 exhibitors coming from 100 different countries. FIA is one of the most long-awaited events for companies operating in the Aerospace, Defense and Security field.

Like previous years have already demonstrated, the Italian presence was wide and has reached important numbers. Mepit took part in the event, exactly from 16 to 22 July at the Piedmont Hall 1 – 1457 stand, achieving new opportunities for debate and meeting with different national and international delegations.

What is Farnborough International Airshow?

The Farnborough International Airshow is a biennial exhibition, located at the homonymous air base near London. The event, which lasts a week, combines the best of science and applied technology for this field.

The working days are dedicated to companies operating in the aerospace sector, while the weekend is dedicated to the public. During the week, visitors and exhibitors themselves have access to a selection of modern and antique aircraft, equipment and new technologies. The opportunity also guarantees a way to establish B2B meetings and future commercial relations in the private, civil and military sectors.

Like the one at Le Bourget in Paris, the Farnborough International Airshow 2018 represents an extraordinary business opportunity and a showcase for businesses.

Innovation in the 2018 edition

Farnborough International Airshow has been one of the biggest events in the aerospace industry in 2016, but with the 2018 edition it addressed new issues related to the industry 4.0 about civil and commercial aviation.

As for the Defense, specific meetings were held on the static and rotary parts, UAS, cargo and MRO segments; this year, new product and process technologies have also been unveiled; and finally, the secrets of the aeronautics of the future were presented.

The event was able to gather the pioneers of today and tomorrow at global level. On the sky of Farnborough, new aircraft were exhibited including Boeing 737 MAX 7, the C Series of Bombardier, the Lockheed Martin F35 Lightning II, the Airbus wide-body A330-900 neo and A350-1000, and the aircraft of Embraer, Hondajet, Diamond and Gulfstream.
